avatar the last airbender cartoon to the big screen

Avatar: the last airbender, is an American cartoon portrayed in a fictional Asian world. the characters in this world possess mental abilities to control four elements, fire, water, air and earth. the main plot of the story is that these four nations (which were once at peace) are in trouble after the fire nation takes it upon themselves to control the world.

anyway, back to the topic. the show which ran for three seasons was an exceptional story with everything that makes a story amazing. beautifully drawn out characters, a good plot line and a wonderfully drawn out world which brings the whole story together. I myself am a huge fan of the series and after learning that a live action film was in production i was ecstatic.

The movie has several flaws that due not follow the originality of the cartoon. first off, no Asian actors were featured in the film which is stupid considering the fact that the cartoon was based in a highly cultural asian world. Firebenders in the cartoon possess the pyrokinetic ability to create and control fire yet in the film they cannot create it. another film flaw was that many of the character names were changed so that they were pronounced in a different way. M. night shyamalan directed this film and made these and many more changes which were not true to the original. it's a disgrace in my eyes. but i still remain a true fan to the animated show.
